Digital Twin of Your Hives
See exactly what's happening inside, frame by frame.
Not a lack of information — a lack of anywhere useful to put it.
You wrote it down. Somewhere. Was it the green notebook or the spreadsheet? Or did you just text it to yourself? Multiply that by 30 hives and two seasons. Your records aren't fragmented, they're gone.
Equipment moves constantly. Supers stack, excluders shift, boxes get swapped between hives. Your tracking system for all of this? Whatever you can remember from last weekend.
Gloves on. Veil down. Propolis on everything. This is the exact moment your hives are telling you the most — and the exact moment recording anything is nearly impossible.
Was this hive stronger or weaker than last month? Is your mite count rising across the yard or just in one colony? You can't see trends you never tracked. And you can't track what you can't record.
The moment a second person touches your hives, your memory stops being a management system and starts being a liability.
hivemunk replaces the notebooks, spreadsheets, and memory with one system that actually survives the season.
Map your locations precisely. Whether it's a backyard, a rooftop, or a remote outyard, hivemunk anchors your data to the real world.
Mirror your real-world equipment. Stack bottom boards, deeps, and supers exactly as they exist in the field.
Manage one hive or hundreds. Customize equipment colors and configurations to match your operation instantly.
Assign queens and colonies to hives. Track lineage, age, and marking status at a glance across your entire apiary.
Narrate your findings hands-free. Our AI populates frame-level data automatically, turning speech into structured records for every hive.
Monitor supplement levels across your apiary. Track sugar syrup and protein patties to ensure your colonies thrive through every season.
Monitor mite loads and respond with precision. Watch as rising counts trigger treatment, then track efficacy as your colony returns to health.
Backyard, rooftop, remote outyard — drop a pin and your hive data lives where your bees do. No more spreadsheets with "the one by the creek" in the notes.
Stack it like you'd stack it in the field. Bottom board, deeps, supers — your digital hive mirrors the real one, box for box.
One hive or two hundred. Paint them the colors you actually use. Your apiary on screen should look like your apiary in real life.
Who's laying? How old is she? What's her marking color? Assign queens to hives and track lineage without flipping through a soggy notebook.
Talk through your inspection. The AI turns what you say into frame-by-frame records — brood pattern, honey stores, everything — so your gloves stay on.
Syrup levels drop. Patties disappear. See exactly which colonies are burning through supplements and which ones are storing — before you open a single lid.
Mite counts climb, you treat, counts drop. One screen shows the whole arc — monitoring, treatment dates, efficacy — so you're never guessing if it worked.

Hello, I'm Jordan! I'm a data engineer based in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I have a confession. I've spent 20 years in software and 10 of those in ag-tech. I literally build systems that organize data for a living. And I couldn't keep my own hive records straight.
Not because I didn't care. I care a lot. I got into beekeeping through a love of permaculture and sustainable living. I'm the kind of person who thinks a backyard should do more than grow grass. So I got bees. And almost immediately ran into a problem that had nothing to do with the bees themselves.
Beekeeping creates a lot of data. What's happening in each hive. Which boxes are stacked where. How the brood pattern looked. What you saw frame by frame. All of this data matters. It's how you make good decisions for your colonies.
My system was voice memos. I'd narrate my inspections in the field because my hands were full and my gloves were covered in propolis. Then I'd get home, sit down at my computer, and transcribe everything into a spreadsheet. It worked until it didn't. The spreadsheet got unwieldy. Notes from three weeks ago didn't make sense anymore. I'd forget to transcribe altogether and lose an entire inspection's worth of observations.
I realized something: if I can't make this work, then the problem isn't discipline. It's that the right tool doesn't exist.
So I built it.
hivemunk started as the system I needed for my own yard. It's designed around how beekeeping actually works in the field, not how software companies think it should work from a desk. Every feature exists because I ran into the problem myself. Every design decision comes from real dirt-under-the-fingernails experience.
I'm building this one feature at a time, and it means the world to me that you're here. I hope hivemunk serves your colonies as well as I wish I could've served mine from day one.
— Jordan, Founder
I won't pretend hivemunk does everything. Not yet. But I ship improvements every week, every feature comes from real problems in real bee yards, and when you send feedback, the person who reads it is the same person who writes the code and builds the product. If something's missing, tell me. I might be already thinking about it.
We're just getting started. Here is a glimpse of what is coming next.
A lightweight, field-focused app designed for scanning optional hive QRs and recording audio inspections.
Specialized forecasts and historical weather data with alerts for bee-specific climate events, including temperature lockouts for acid treatments.
Regional pollen and nectar flow timelines to help anticipate honey flows and nectar dearths.
Connect third-party hive scales and sensors to centralize real-time monitoring data.
